Where heavier spheres are required Pepson encapsulate a range of metal inserts in the polyurethane. These include aluminium, cast iron and hollow aluminium and cast iron inserts. Each insert is shot blasted, cleaned and bond sprayed to ensure a homogenous polyurethane/ metal sphere resistant to splitting and separation.In general, designing for casting polyurethane is identical to designing for any plastic, molded or injection molded. 1 | It is the most versatile, toughest, abrasion resistance elastomer available. It is as soft as Shore A durometer 10 and hard as Shore D scale durometer 85. |
